Quark Cheese

Quark Cheese(qwark) – Quark cheese is a soft, un-ripened cheese with the texture and flavor similar to that of sour cream.  Quark can be used as a sour cream substitute to top baked potatoes and as an ingredient in a variety of dishes including cheesecakes, dips, salads, and sauces.  By the same token, sour cream can be used as a substitute if quark is unavailable.


Quadriller refers to marking the surface of grilled or broiled food with a crisscross pattern of lines.  The scorings are produced by contact with very hot single grill bars, which brown the surface of the food.  Very hot skewers may also be used to mark the surface.


Quiche is a savoury, open pastry crust (although you often see menu items selling ‘crust-less’ Quiche these days. The filling is made with eggs and milk or cream with one or more of cheese, meat, seafood or vegetables. Quiche can be served hot or cold. Yes!! Real men DO eat quiche!!
